On behalf of our client Affinity is seeking a Senior Project Manager specializing in technology and data projects to not only manage planning and execution of business sponsored projects but also to help defining and establishing agile ways of working in the Enterprise Data & Analytics group. The successful candidate will be responsible for all facets of project management, from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and long-term support model. A strong background in agile and waterfall project management, coupled with adept leadership abilities, is essential to navigating multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of assigned projects to agreed scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
  2. Navigate potential hurdles posed by stakeholders and unforeseen scope deviations by implementing proactive strategies to safeguard project integrity and operational sustainability.
  3. Cultivate collaborative relationships with stakeholders, prioritize workload, clarify roles and responsibilities, and quickly escalate resource gaps.
  4. Provide leadership and champion projects, providing clear guidance, direction, and support collaboration and maximize efficiencies.
  5. Monitor progress and performance metrics diligently, leveraging insights to gauge project health and identify optimization opportunities.
  6. Disseminate project status updates, milestone achievements, and risk assessments to stakeholders at all levels through regular communications and reports.
  7. Uphold compliance, standards, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  8. Foster collaborative partnerships within and outside the organization, including vendors and contractors.
  9. Champion continuous improvement and highlight opportunities to improve project management methodologies, processes, and toolsets.
  10. Support the adoption of agile principles and practices across the Enterprise Data & Analytics team. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, or related field;
  • 7+ years of progressive project experience with multiple stakeholders increased project complexity.
  • Knowledge of Accounting, Finance, Investment, and/or Real Estate is a strong asset.
  • Proven track record in overseeing projects involving multiple technology, data and financial domains
  • Proficient in project management methodologies, spanning Agile, Scrum, and traditional Waterfall approaches.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills in bringing together cross-functional teams together for a common goal.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at translating business needs into improved processes and eventual technology solutions. 
  • Problem solver and flexibility to pivot in a dynamic, fast-paced environments.

 

Top Skills Necessary

 

  • Senior Project Management experience - 7+ years project management experience including creating project scope, tracking key project milestones, budgeting, resource availability and adjust project plans and/or resources and communicating with key stakeholders.
  • Data Strategy Projects – Have provided Project Management to at least 2 enterprise level project that derives to create value from data in data platforms on cloud (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Google, Databricks). These projects can take various forms such as data governance, data warehouses (implementation, upgrades), business intelligence (reorganizing data pipelines to streamline and optimize data processing operations), IT/enterprise applications (data migrations, data conversion, etc.)
  • Certifications – Have achieved PMP or similar designations. 
  • Background with Data projects - 3+ years of progressive experience in contributing to the building of data-as-a-product, data products, APIs or Data Platforms focusing on building data foundations involving data integrations, data modeling and data serving.
