We are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong technical expertise in Oracle and/or SQL Server environments to join our clients  team. This role is responsible for the administration, optimization, and sustainment of mission-critical databases supporting enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in performance tuning, backup and recovery, automation, and change management, along with a proactive approach to maintaining database reliability, security, and performance in a 24x7 operational environment.


Responsibilities:

·      Implement and support database deployments in alignment with established change management processes.

·      Collaborate with development teams to transition applications into UAT and Production, ensuring scripts meet standards and best practices.

·      Develop and maintain custom monitoring solutions to enhance built-in tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and SQL Diagnostic Manager.

·      Configure, monitor, and maintain database backup and recovery processes using RMAN, SQL Server backup/restore, and NetApp Snap Center for Oracle.

·      Refresh non-production databases and maintain consistent environments across development and production.

·      Provide operational support and sustainment for all SQL Server and Oracle environments.

·      Proactively monitor database health, performance, and capacity, addressing issues before they impact operations.

·      Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and ongoing process improvements.

·      Assist developers with SQL query optimization and tuning for PL/SQL and T-SQL code.

·      Manage and maintain SQL Server features including Replication, Integration Services (SSIS), and Analysis Services (SSAS).

·      Support high availability and clustering configurations, including Oracle RAC and SQL Server Availability Groups.

·      Participate in after-hours and on-call support rotations for production issue resolution.

·      Research, document, and implement new systems and tools to improve database capabilities and processes.

·      Foster a collaborative and positive team environment while modeling professionalism and accountability.


Qualifications:

·      Education: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field.

·      Experience: 4–7 years of experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise-level Oracle and/or SQL Server environments.

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

·      Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

·      Experience with automation, scripting, and database process optimization.


Technical Skills:

·      Oracle: 19c, RAC, OEM 24ai, Data Guard, GoldenGate, Internet Directory, NetApp Snap Center, Linux/Windows environments, and Red Hat shell scripting.

·      SQL Server: 2022, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Availability Groups/Distributed AG, Windows Failover Clustering, and PowerShell scripting.

·      Experience with CDC (Change Data Capture), data replication, and Snowflake considered assets.
