On behalf of our Healthcare client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for a Software Developer – Integration Modernization (BizTalk Developer) to support the conversion of BizTalk 2016 solutions to BizTalk 2020. The role involves refactoring code, aligning artifacts with coding standards, performing unit testing, and updating technical documentation. Candidates must collaborate with EIST team leads, provide regular progress updates, and support knowledge transfer to internal staff. Experience with Visual Studio, BizTalk Server, CI/CD, and healthcare integration environments preferred.
Responsibilities:
Solution Conversion
- Convert BizTalk 2016 Visual Studio solutions to BizTalk 2020 format using the provided migration guidelines.
- Refactor and update code to align with current development standards.
Code Quality & Standards Compliance
- Review and adjust artifacts, schemas, maps, pipelines, and orchestrations to meet coding and architectural conventions.
- Identify and remediate deprecated components or unsupported practices.
Testing & Validation
- Conduct unit testing on all converted solutions.
- Document test results and collaborate on defect resolution.
- Ensure compatibility with integrated systems ahead of downstream testing.
Technical Documentation
- Maintain and update documentation to reflect all changes made during conversion.
- Provide traceability and rationale for modifications.
Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer
- Participate in regular project meetings and work under designated technical leadership.
- Share progress updates and flag risks or blockers.
- Support knowledge transfer to internal teams for long-term sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Working Knowledge of HL7v2 is a must
- Hands-on development experience with Microsoft BizTalk is a must
- Experience working on large health care integration initiatives/projects
- Hands-on development experience with .NET, C#, Visual Studio
- Experience with Azure DevOps (On-Premises)
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience working with project stakeholders, including business stakeholders, project managers, and business analysts from teams
- Experience in creating technical project documentation
- Knowledge of API will be an asset.
- Experience working in a large team environment.
