On behalf of our client Affinity is seeking an SAP Security Engineer on a contract basis. In this role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and securing the SAP S/4HANA environment, specifically focused on role-based access control (RBAC) and access management systems that meet both security and business requirements.


You will play a key role in shaping the security framework, ensuring that SAP’s security architecture aligns with industry standards and the client’s organizational needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement role-based access control (RBAC) within SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with business and security policies.
  • Configure and maintain user roles, authorization profiles, and permissions in SAP to meet compliance standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
  • Implement and ensure proper segregation of duties (SoD) and access control for SAP users.
  • Set up and manage user authentication methods in SAP, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and Secure Network Communication (SNC).
  • Implement and configure SAP GRC solutions for managing access controls, monitoring compliance, and mitigating security risks.
  • Conduct regular reviews of user roles, permissions, and security policies to ensure ongoing compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Establish and monitor SAP audit logs and security logs to detect unauthorized access or potential vulnerabilities.
  • Perform regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in access controls and security configurations.
  • Investigate and respond to any security incidents related to SAP access control violations, particularly as new modules and functionalities are implemented.
  • Work closely with IT infrastructure teams, SAP Basis specialists, and business stakeholders to identify security requirements and implement solutions for SAP S/4HANA.
  • Provide guidance on security best practices and participate in architectural decisions during the SAP S/4HANA implementation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for SAP access control systems, processes, and configurations.
  • Stay informed on the latest industry trends, security threats, and SAP security enhancements to keep the environment secure.
  • Ensure timely application of security patches and updates to the SAP environment as it evolves.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in SAP security, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience working with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong experience with role-based access control (RBAC), user role management, authorization profiles, and SAP GRC solutions.
  • Experience working with security protocols such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and Secure Network Communication (SNC) within SAP systems.
  • In-depth understanding of SAP S/4HANA security architecture and design principles.
  • Familiarity with security auditing tools and SAP Solution Manager.
  • Proficiency in SAP security patching, incident response, and security monitoring.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units and SAP Basis experts.
  • CISSP or CISM certification is a plus.
