Apply for QA Engineer - Data Migration (Remote APAC)

On behalf of our U.S. client, Affinity is looking for 2 experienced QA Automation Engineers based in APAC to join a global testing team with a focus on data/system migration validation. These roles require strong hands-on automation, SQL, and API testing capabilities—along with a proven ability to validate large-scale data or platform migrations. You’ll be working across cross-functional teams to ensure migrated systems are reliable, accurate, and free from regression, with a focus on aligning QA efforts to business continuity and data integrity.

Top Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in QA automation, software testing, and Agile development
• Strong C# .Net automation experience with Playwright (TypeScript)
• Migration testing experience including SQL data validation, ETL pipelines, and monitoring tools like DataDog
• API testing experience using Postman, RestSharp, or equivalent tools
• CI/CD expertise in Azure DevOps, including automated test execution in pipelines
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and DataDog for synthetic testing and system monitoring

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in TypeScript and C# for building and maintaining test automation frameworks
• Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks
• Strong SQL proficiency to validate data between legacy and migrated systems
• Experience in large-scale migration testing (data, systems, APIs)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like DataDog for real-time visibility and performance validation
• Understanding of performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6 (preferred)
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes is a plus)
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working across time zones

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with global QA, development, and DevOps teams to define and execute a robust migration testing strategy
• Build and maintain test automation using C# and Playwright to validate functionality pre- and post-migration
• Perform complex SQL data validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency across environments
• Drive API testing efforts using Postman, RestSharp, or equivalent
• Integrate and maintain automated tests in CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps
• Monitor system behavior after migration using DataDog, including synthetic checks, alerts, and dashboards
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Planning, Refinement, Retrospective)
• Debug and resolve issues across development, infrastructure, and testing layers
• Maintain clear and up-to-date test documentation including test cases, scripts, and test reports
• Support manual and exploratory testing during migration cutovers and critical release windows
