On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Project Manager with experience authoring project proposals, governance structures, budgets, requirements documentation, and significant delivery experience to lead enterprise security projects.
Responsibilities:
Definition of project proposals, including:
• Document a description of the project including security and business drivers
• Document the approach including stakeholder analysis, governance model
• Document the project plan/schedule
• Define required topology, security and privacy deliverables
• Develop a high-level budget for the project
• Define risk management and mitigation strategies
• Initiate and manage the projects in cooperation with staff, partner, and vendor resources
• Manage delivery of the required topology, security and privacy documentation.
This position will administratively report to the Chief Security Officer. The Successful Supplier will be assigned tasks and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Manage, schedule and coordinate all aspects of the projects assigned over the entire project lifecycles;
• Support an effective, proactive cross-functional project team that may consist of both management & non-management individuals in an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative and open communications; promotes and models the corporate values.
• Recognize both personal and team success;
• Maintain a high level of competency in project management related disciplines;
• Lead project team members as required, in the successful project implementation, project planning, project management, coordination, change management & transition, and communications;
• Monitor and report project progress to the Chief security officer, Executive Steering Committee and stakeholders;
• Communicate to all levels of stakeholders of project using an appropriate method of communication in a timely manner. Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the project plan, in order to align the stakeholders and team members;
• Issue management, escalation and tracking;
• Decision making support and tracking;
• Lead, direct and manage project staff to ensure the effective use of human resources;
• Organize and direct work including prioritizing assignments, providing regular performance feedback and taking necessary corrective action as may be required; and
• Other tasks & responsibilities as assigned/required by the Chief Security Officer.
Qualifications:
• Experience in managing IT software or infrastructure projects with distributed teams and matrixed operational resources with budgets more than $2M and staff compliment exceeding five (5) FTEs;
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience driving project management in a busy, enterprise scaled environment with multiple interfaced systems, and established dev/test/prod/train environment management practices and organizational change control gates. Health care/data analytics or information technology setting preferred;
• Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio), including developing presentations, reports and documentation using all MS Office Suite program, and a strong aptitude to be detail oriented, analyze data and develop advanced reports in Excel;
• Strong project planning and estimating skills with the ability to create and manage work breakdown structures (WBS);
• Proven track record at establishing and maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate information using plain language;
• Knowledge of IT support environment processes and the use of information systems applications preferred, including the ability to quickly grasp and understand technical concepts and systems and experience in working collaboratively with IT and non-IT stakeholders;
• Excellent multi-tasking, facilitation, troubleshooting, time management, problem solving, risk management, and customer service skills;
• Proven ability to work independently, or within a team in a fast pace and at times unstructured environment with changing priorities;
• Strong ability to prioritize and pre-plan, recognize resourcing needs, coordinate people and activities, recognize trends, and work effectively within a team environment;
• Good understanding of IT architecture and standards;
• Familiarity with recent IT platforms and methodologies in use and understand how this project is going to meet those needs; and
• Experience in organizational change management across large organizations impacting hundreds of staff.
• Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
• Given the nature of work and potential contract negotiations with suppliers, Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification is required.
