On behalf of our healthcare client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for a Device Lead to work on a CIS Program to ensure clinicians are provided with the correct tools and technology that meet their needs. The existing fleet of Endpoint devices will be increasing along with the use of different types of devices (Thin Clients, Phones, Tablets, Scanners, etc.) to support new functionality of the CIS, such as enhanced electronic documentation.


Deliverables:

• Clinical User-Centered Design & Workflow Analysis: Working closely with Clinical and Technical resources leading the process of understanding, documenting, and optimizing the placement and deployment of Endpoint devices in clinical workflows that will be used within Facilities.

• Technical Alignment: Ensure the Technical solutions for managing the Endpoint ‘Desktop’ meets clinical requirements and expectations.

• Usability & Adoption: Ensure Endpoint selection and configuration are intuitive and promote user adoption.

• Endpoint Device Strategy: Define the standards, types, and placement of all endpoint devices.

• Device Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the procurement, configuration, deployment, and support strategy for all relevant endpoint hardware. (Thin Clients, Tap N Go, Virtual Desktops, etc.)

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between clinical end-users, the CIS vendor, internal IT teams, and project leadership on all matters related to usability and endpoint technology.


Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s level University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare or a similar discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Demonstrated experience in a user experience leadership role on at least one major Clinical Information System implementation project (i.e., major systems used within Hospitals).

• 5 years of demonstrated experience with a focus on Canadian health information systems, standards, technology, and/or software.

• 5 years of demonstrated experience working directly with clinicians completing activities such as requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, and business process analysis.

• 5 years of demonstrated expertise employing project management tools, methodologies, and best practices – including leading projects through the full lifecycle using adaptive (agile) and predictive (waterfall) modes.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

• 5+ years of experience working closely with clinical staff in hospital environments to capture user requirements related to endpoint devices and peripherals, and map them to workflows.

• 5+ years of experience demonstrating strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; able to engage and collaborate with team members, SMEs, and stakeholders at all levels.

• 5+ years of experience leading a team of healthcare and/or technical professionals in large, complex healthcare environments.

• 3+ years of experience implementing endpoint technology in healthcare environments (e.g., laptops, desktops, thin clients, mobile carts, Tap N Go, mobile devices).

• Verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills in both French and English strongly preferred.

• Previous experience working as a clinician in a hospital setting is considered an asset.
