On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Business Analyst to skilled Business Analyst for a 3-month contract position to support the project within their Medical Program. This hybrid role requires on-site presence 2 days per week in Calgary, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the time. The ideal candidate will have experience working with clinical stakeholders in a healthcare or medical environment, ensuring project delivery and alignment with program objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with clinical stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and medical administrators, to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements.
• Conduct thorough analysis of current processes within the Southern Alberta Medical Program, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
• Develop detailed business cases, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications to support project implementation.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews to gather insights and ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Assist in data analysis and reporting to inform decision-making, using tools like Excel, Visio, or similar for modeling and visualization.
• Support testing and validation phases, ensuring solutions meet clinical and operational needs.
• Provide regular updates and recommendations to project leads, adapting to the fast-paced nature of a 3-month timeline.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in healthcare, medical programs, or clinical environments.
• Proven ability to work with clinical stakeholders, understanding medical terminology, workflows, and regulatory considerations (e.g., HIPAA or similar privacy standards).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in requirements gathering and process mapping.
• Proficiency in business analysis tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Availability for a 3-month contract starting [insert start date, e.g., immediately], with hybrid scheduling (2 days on-site in Southern Alberta).
Preferred Skills
• Experience with healthcare IT systems, electronic health records (EHR), or medical program management.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management principles.
• Knowledge of Alberta's healthcare landscape or similar regional medical programs.
• Certification such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA.
