On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Technical Project Manager to oversee multiple large technology infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have an agile mindset, be an innovative problem-solver, and be accountable for the entire project scope, team, resources, change records, issues, reporting, and the overall success or failure of the project. This role requires managing risks in interrelated projects and a strong understanding of the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
Responsibilities:
• Project Management: Manage all aspects of one or multiple infrastructure projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives across various business units.
• Leadership: Provide leadership to the project team by building, coaching, and motivating team members to meet project goals and milestones.
• Project Lifecycle Ownership: Own the full project lifecycle from initiation to deployment for one or more major initiatives simultaneously.
• Comprehensive Project Management: Develop and manage all project aspects, comprising planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, issues, and day-to-day activities, including:
• Setting and continually managing project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
• Preparing estimates and detailed project plans for all phases.
• Managing project scope and changes.
• Procuring adequate resources to achieve project objectives within planned timeframes.
• Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project teams, sponsors, senior executive management, and key stakeholders.
• Reporting on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities.
• Managing ongoing quality control and participating in quality issue resolution.
• Defining Statements of Work and Specifications for requested goods and services.
• Monitoring, tracking, and controlling outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
• Defining success criteria and disseminating them to involved parties throughout the project and program lifecycle.
• Participating in feasibility studies, vendor selections, and proposals for evaluation by appropriate stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 10+ years of project management experience managing multiple large technology infrastructure projects that span one or multiple business units, including agile scrum teams.
• Project Management Skills: Extensive understanding of agile, hybrid, and waterfall project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.
Technical Expertise: An ability to:
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to the project team.
• Bridge gaps between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understand and manage technical requirements and constraints.
• Coordinate with technical teams to ensure technical feasibility.
• Oversee the integration of technical solutions and ensure they align with business objectives.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions.
• Planning and Monitoring: Extensive experience in creating and monitoring project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources, status reporting, identifying/managing project issues and risks, and change control.
• Financial Acumen: Excellent understanding of financial analysis and principles of project cost estimating analysis.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive experience in preparing status reports and presenting to sponsors, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Procurement and Vendor Management: Experience working with procurement processes and managing external vendor relationships.
• Team Leadership: Extensive experience in coaching, mentoring, motivating, and supervising teams, with the ability to communicate, set, and maintain clear expectations.
• Resource Negotiation: Experience in negotiating for and sharing resources with others.
