On behalf of our healthcare client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for an Enterprise Architect to lead enterprise architecture services to design, evaluate, and implement SMART on FHIR–enabled solutions aligned with strategic healthcare objectives. Responsibilities include modeling and automating business processes, developing enterprise standards, designing application architectures, and overseeing software/hardware selection. Provide expertise in clinical data repositories, health system integration, and digital health initiatives, including virtual care, patient portals, and decision support tools. Ensure alignment with industry best practices, standards, and government requirements.


Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture Services related to SMART on FHIR:

• Analyze business needs and requirements to help deliver recommendations for a robust solution that meets strategic requirements;

• Model and automate business processes;

• Transform business requirements into an object model and workflow design;

• Evaluate and select software and hardware;

• Develop high-level and detailed application design specifications and architecture documents;

• Perform design and code reviews;

• Develop frameworks for new applications;

• Define application development standards including the recommended use of languages and tools;

• Define and develop enterprise standards;

• Specify data modelling and database development technologies and techniques;

• Conduct architectural evaluation, design and analysis of enterprise-wide web systems;

• Assist in the preparation of test plans, technical presentations, and briefing materials for various solution areas;

• Develop high-level schemas for business applications;

• Complete other related work as required;

• Incorporate digital health and health IT trends;

• Plan and govern clinical data repositories;

• Support health-specific integration;

• Implement clinical solutions;

• Support clinical adoption and change management;

• Facilitate clinical process improvement;

• Support virtual care initiatives;

• Develop patient access and messaging portals;

• Promote health digital literacy;

• Implement health decision support tools;

• Provide consultation and technical expertise around clinical data repositories; and

• Complete other related work as required.


Qualifications:

• A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in Enterprise Architecture, including the design and implementation of complex, secure, and scalable IT systems within public sector or healthcare environments;

• Extensive knowledge of SMART on FHIR standards, FHIR APIs, and OAuth2/OpenID Connect protocols, with proven experience in implementing or supporting SMART on FHIR applications;

• Demonstrated experience in healthcare interoperability, including integration with Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Clinical Data Repositories (CDRs), and recognized health data standards;

• Experience with API management platforms, identity and access management, and data transformation services is considered mandatory; and

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working with health IT standards, virtual care platforms, and patient access portals is considered an asset.
