On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Cyber Security Administrator to manage and maintain the operational central logging system for both production and test/staging environments. This involves various tasks such as onboarding new applications/systems to cybertools, improve cyber security posture in the area of cloud, administrator tasks such as implementing snapshot restores, creating automation playbooks, handling SSL/TLS certificate renewals, perform operational support tasks such as monitoring availability, capacity, performance, storage, and security of the central logging system.
Responsibilities:
• Designs solutions to resolve system related business problems, meet user requirements, and streamline system workflows.
• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives and recommends a strategy, potential solution, or "work-around".
• Monitors and analyzes systems issues and provides recommendations for all systems supported infrastructure as part of regular operations. - Provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts.
• Writes and maintains systems documentation including user and technical manuals.
• Designs, provisions and configures systems.
• Acts as a liaison between technical groups and stakeholders to coordinate the system's installation and ensure technical compatibility and satisfaction.
• Prepares documentation and defines system specific dependencies to assist in problem analysis.
• Provides recommendations for improving procedures and coordinating system implementation.
• Integrates development of best practices, standards, procedures and quality objectives across systems infrastructure or platforms.
• Maintains appropriate professional designations and up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools.
Qualifications:
• 3 years – Working knowledge of managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Windows Server.
• 3 years – Service Management (including Incident Management and Problem Management).
• 2 years – Programming (e.g., Ruby, Java, Python, C#, Node.js) or Scripting (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Bash).
• 5 years – Experience in communicating and facilitating technical and non-technical discussions during client and stakeholder meetings.
• 4 years – Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 3 years – Cybersecurity.
• 10 years – Professional Information Technology (IT) experience.
• 3 years – Cloud (IaaS) hands-on knowledge (AWS preferred).
• 2 years – Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) service management in a self-hosted operational environment (including index lifecycle management, snapshots/restore, custom log parsing)
• OR
• Cloud Security working knowledge (in areas such as AWS Security Hub, AWS Security Lake, AWS IAM, Cloud Security Posture Management [CSPM]).
Desired Qualifications:
• CISSP or other cybersecurity certification.
• ITIL certification.
• Identity and Access Management.
• Penetration Testing.
• Data Analytics using Power BI.
• Network technologies (such as firewalls, load balancers).
• System administration of large (100+) Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) infrastructure.
• Configure ELK pipelines (using grok patterns and scripts).
• Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management / Exposure Management.
• Vulnerability Management.
• SIEM / Cloud Log Management.
• IoT / OT Security.
• Cloud Identity Management.
• Cloud security (AWS, Azure, and OpenStack).
• Integrating applications and systems with MFA.
