On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for an IT Security Project Manager will ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of multiple IT security projects. The role requires a blend of standard waterfall and agile project management practices. The candidate should have demonstrated project management, business analysis, communications, vendor management, and change management skills, with a strong focus on cybersecurity initiatives. 


Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple concurrent IT security projects under the technology portfolio. 

• Coordinate with internal IT teams, external vendors, and security consultants. 

• Manage vendor procurement and operations. 

• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks. 

• Oversee risk assessments, penetration testing, and remediation activities. 

• Implement change management strategies for security-related processes. 

• Prepare and maintain project documentation for audits and regulatory compliance. 

• Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close IT security projects. 

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members. 

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans using appropriate tools, such as Microsoft Project. 

• Manage project resources, budget, schedule, quality, risk, issues, and changes using best practices and standards. 

• Identify the most appropriate delivery approach (waterfall, scrum, hybrid) for each project’s phase or workstream and lead the team accordingly. 

• Manage the day-to-day vendor relationship, ensuring alignment between the organization and vendor-led staff and their related activities. 

• Ensure projects adhere to corporate standards and policy requirements. 

• Communicate project status, progress, issues, and risks to project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members regularly. 

• Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, agile ceremonies, workshops, reviews, and ad hoc presentations as needed. 

• Ensure project deliverables meet the requirements and expectations of the project sponsors and stakeholders. 

• Ensure change management needs are identified, planned, and executed in alignment with project delivery timelines. 

• Partner with Information Technology to plan and implement transition to operations work. 

• Conduct project-close activities.
