On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Data Team Lead who will provide technical leadership for a team of 6–8 experienced members, supporting data migration tasks to ensure the successful delivery of migration and conversion activities. In addition, the role will assist the project manager by managing diverse data sources and engaging internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a smooth transition to the SaaS environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Leads the data team, manages internal and external stakeholders, supervises project tasks and supports the project manager and business owner to fulfill business goals in data migration delivery. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), other delivery teams, and the CRAVES implementation partner/SaaS supplier to identify, define, collate, document, and communicate data migration requirements, ensuring the arrangement of discovery sessions for current and future state analysis.
  • Provide support and guidance to business users, support all reporting needs and data profiling.
  • Identify project deliverables and required tasks based on migration requirements and support the project manager in developing the project plan for data migration delivery. 
  • Create and maintain an inventory of all legacy data and file assets.
  • Using a collaborative approach, develop the data migration strategy, validate it, manage the approval process for the strategy, develop a detailed plan based on the strategy, and ensure successful implementation. 
  • Develop data migration specifications, including data mapping and translation, identify data for cleansing, and oversee the data cleansing process. 
  • Work closely with the project's core and integration team to identify data migration requirements for integrated systems and consult with and align the owners of those respective systems with the implementation partner/SaaS supplier's migration activities.
  • Identify, manage and monitor risks and issues for potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.
  • Moderate different data governance meetings and produce regular data migration status reports.
  • Produce comparative analysis reports to clearly demonstrate the readiness of data migration activities for all available source data, quality checks and compare the converted data with source values. 
  • Prepare necessary reports to be shared with the Auditor General to demonstrate the level of Quality Control done before the go-live in different phases. 

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, along with experience in information management or a related field.
  • 6 years of demonstrated technical leadership experience by managing a diverse delivery team on a complex data migration project in large enterprises.
  • 8 years of demonstrated experience working in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) design and implementation involving the extraction and provisioning of data from a variety of legacy systems.
  • 8 years of demonstrated application of knowledge and methods of data migration, best practices and data mapping.
  • 3 years of proven experience working on property assessment projects within government environments.

Scored Qualifications:

  • 8 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in data migration analysis, including data discovery, mapping, extraction, cleansing, and loading.
  • 6 years of experience using various data formats such as database extracts, spreadsheets, JSON, CSV, and others.
  • 6 years of demonstrated experience with Master Data Management, Data Governance practices, and Data Protection.
  • 4 years of demonstrated experience working within a team environment, performing tasks in both collaborative and autonomous modes.
  • 2 years of proven experience working on property assessment projects within government or service delivery agency environments.
  • 1 project reference of demonstrated experience with at least one cloud SaaS implementation involving significant business transformation for complex data conversion.
