Apply for Programmer

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Programmer Level 3 to augment the current technical support team of our client. The chosen individual’s work will be comprised of a mixture of steady state and project-based efforts. These efforts include, but are not limited to, system operation, user support, third-party software upgrades, fixing errors in the systems, adding new features, and reprogramming sections of the systems for efficiency or security.

Engagement Deliverables

• Deliver application release activities as assigned.
• Complete all assigned maintenance, support, and development activities, including service requests, releases, incidents, and problem tasks.
• Resolve all incident and problem management tasks.
• Update team knowledge sites and documentation as required.
• Provide operational support as part of the team rotation, with compensation based on departmental rates for on‑call and after‑hours work.
• Perform other assigned duties such as updating team documentation and participating in team scrums.

Mandatory Requirements

• Possess a university degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Twenty (20) years of IM/IT experience.
• Fifteen (15) years as a Senior Programmer and/or Senior System Analyst.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Be available to start work in Fredericton, NB on the specified date, including the ability to work onsite when required.

Scored Requirements

• Fifteen (15) years plus of experience as a Programmer working with large software systems involving web interfaces, batch processes, time‑based transactions, long‑running transactions, and multiple integration points.
• Two (2) years plus of experience as a Programmer working with Provincial Health Care and Electronic Health Records applications in a Canadian provincial context.
• Ten (10) years plus of expertise as a Programmer across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including developing, documenting, coding, testing, and implementing technical solutions, with the ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders.
• Five (5) years plus of programming experience with integration engines such as Rhapsody, Azure Integration Services, or other diverse integration systems.
• Ten (10) years plus of experience as a Programmer working with database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server.
• Five (5) years plus of experience as a Programmer working with Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, Oracle Reports, and similar reporting technologies.
