On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a full time permanent position. Candidates must be located in the lower mainland for hybrid work based in Vancouver. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is a senior hands-on technical role responsible for the reliability, automation, security, governance, and continuous improvement of cloud and infrastructure platforms. This role provides technical ownership of cloud infrastructure operations and supports hybrid infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will be passionate about cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, security best practices, and operational excellence. They will play a key role in maintaining a secure, scalable, and highly available environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Own the reliability, performance, and availability of cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
  • Automate operational processes and contribute to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Manage identity, security, governance, and compliance controls
  • Support cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and infrastructure operations
  • Implement monitoring, observability, and cost optimization strategies
  • Lead disaster recovery testing and business continuity initiatives
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for infrastructure-related incidents
  • Mentor junior team members and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of Azure infrastructure experience
  • Strong expertise with Azure IaaS, PaaS, automation, and infrastructure operations
  • Experience with Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell, Azure Automation, and DevOps pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft infrastructure services, and backup/recovery
  • Experience with Azure networking, governance, security, and cost management
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400

Preferred Skills:

  • AWS experience
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security models
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
  • ITIL certification
