Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the implementation of a Lawyer Quality Assurance Framework. The role will build upon existing foundational work and focus on early implementation activities while establishing a longer-term roadmap for the full framework. The Project Manager will lead project delivery, organizational change management, governance, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management activities to ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, implementation, transition, and closure.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, success measures, governance structures, milestones, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, resource plans, and status reporting.
- Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies, including predictive, Agile, and hybrid approaches, and facilitate required ceremonies and reviews.
- Lead cross-functional teams, clarify accountabilities, coordinate dependencies, and maintain momentum across workstreams.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, and change requests.
- Provide concise, decision-focused project reporting and escalate material concerns with recommendations and options for resolution.
- Manage vendor-delivered work, including procurement support, onboarding, deliverable oversight, performance management, invoicing, dependencies, and contractual compliance.
- Plan and coordinate stakeholder engagement, communications, business analysis, organizational change management, testing, training, implementation, and readiness activities.
- Partner with business and technology teams to support security, privacy, data, operational readiness, and transition requirements.
- Ensure project documentation, approvals, and records are complete, current, and maintained in accordance with organizational standards.
- Conduct project closeout activities, including acceptance, transition planning, financial reconciliation, lessons learned, and benefits realization handoff.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of progressive project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent priorities and delivering results with limited supervision.
- Experience across a range of project types, including business process improvement, service delivery, organizational change, operational improvement, and technology-enabled initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of project governance, planning, financial management, risk and issue management, change control, reporting, and benefits realization.
- Experience managing vendors and contracted services, including deliverables, performance management, dependencies, and commercial considerations.
- Ability to tailor predictive, Agile, and hybrid delivery approaches based on project complexity, risk, and business needs.
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, negotiation, judgment, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to identify issues, develop practical solutions, and drive decisions through to completion.
- Proven experience planning and leading organizational change management activities involving internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with legal professionals, regulated professional environments, lawyer performance frameworks, professional standards, or quality assurance programs is considered an asset.
